Bronze Wear Plates

Wear Plates guide and control linear motion when there are heavy forces to contend with. These plates act as linear bearings to guide and control movement. National Bronze Mfg. offers various types of bronze wear plates, ranging from unfinished cast bronze plate to fully finished machined components. Below are descriptions of the various types we offer.

Cast Bronze Wear Plate

Our Cast Bronze Wear Plate is produced by a method known as "continuous" casting. The fine grain structure obtained through continous casting virtually eliminates casting defects associated with static casting methods. This dense structure is free from porosity which in turns prolongs the life of your tooling.

Saw Cut Wear Plate

We stock our cast bronze wear plate in standard 144" lengths. We specialize in saw cutting our cast bronze plate to your individual specifications. Custom saw cut plate saves you money and valuable machine time. As a result you buy less material and machine less away.

Precision Ground Wear Plate

We also offer precisions ground wear plate. Our ground wear plate is supplied finished on both top and bottom. No further milling or grinding is necessary. Generally, ground plate can achieve tolerances of +/- .002 on the thickness.

Finished Machined Bronze Wear Plates

For a truly complete wear plate solution, we offer fully machined wear plates. This is a completely machined product to your individual specifications. Common configurations include custom hole patterns, grease grooves, and mounting holes.

Self Lubricating Bronze Wear Plate

Many of the fully machined bronze wear plates that we manufacture are self lubricating. This is acheived by a process of plugging the bronze plate with plugs of graphite. We offer a full line of plug graphite bearings. More information on our graphite plugged parts can be found here.
