National Bronze Mfg. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of bronze based products. Since 1911 National Bronze Mfg. has been one the largest manufacturers of bronze bushings, bearings, and other industrial components. National Bronze Mfg. is also a full metal service center supplying bronze, brass, and copper bar stock to manufacturers worldwide. With an expertise in copper alloy based product National Bronze Mfg. services customers in a wide variety of industries. Because we are privately held, we are able to make long range commitments and capital investments in support of our customers, our employees, our suppliers and our community.
As one of the oldest companies in the industry with the most modern machine tools available, we successfully blend old school craftsmanship with the most contemporary equipment. We are a “Full Line” producer of Bronze Bearings, Bronze Bushings and Bronze Thrust Washers for the Heavy-Duty Truck, Trailer and Construction Vehicle industries. Our products are shipped around the world and are well known for their fit and trouble free installation.
Nearly all of our machines are controlled by computers (CNC). Our manufacturing processes include turning, boring, broaching, grooving, facing, milling, drilling, grinding and de-burring. Many of our manufacturing processes are proprietary, with the tooling made in our own tool room. Our standard lines of Bronze Bushings and Bronze Sleeve Bearings are always being produced to maintain our Service Center inventory levels. Bronze Trunnion Bushings, Bronze King Pin Bushings, Bronze Bowl Bushings, Bronze Thrust Washers, Brass and Bronze Gear Blanks, Brass turned parts, Brass Pistons and related parts are being manufactured daily. Quotations for "Machined to Print" or "Made from Sample" parts, will be returned to you promptly.

Founded on the Lower East Side of Detroit as the National Bronze & Aluminum Foundry

Rapid growth servicing the exploding automotive industry as dozens of new companies competed for their share of the market.

1930
Converted machinery and equipment from ceiling mounted lineshaft drives to motors individually mounted to each piece of machinery.

1940
Tooled up to produce parts for wartime vehicles and fighter planes as Detroit became known as the "Arsenal of Democracy" during World War II.

1950
Diversified into Bushings and Bearings for pumps, construction and agricultural equipment, irrigation, machine tools, hydraulics and more as our customers began producing a seemingly endless supply of durable goods following WWII.

Modernized foundry with electric melting, material handling equipment and automatic molding.

1990
Opened Metal Service Center for bronze and other copper alloy bar, tube and plate.

2000
Introduced "Spira-Lube" pattern of lubrication grooves to improve product life on all oscillating applications at no premium cost to customers.

2001
Honored by the Society of Automotive Engineers and Mayor Dennis Archer as one of Detroit's oldest companies at its Tricentennial Celebration.

Purchased 15,000 sq ft facility in Clinton Township, MI to expand manufacturing capacity

2006
Added 6000 square foot warehouse to increase inventories of oil impregnated sintered bearings.

Purchased the assets of United Bronze Inc, of Livonia, Michigan.

Purchased 25,000 sq. ft. Roseville, MI facility to expand service center inventories & processing.
